Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith is of counsel at Sagamore Legal and is licensed to practice law in Indiana. 

Brandon was born and raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH. Being a Buckeye since birth, Brandon attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 2015 with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specializing in Operations Management and minoring in Business Law. 

Upon graduation, Brandon began working in the Operations Management Graduate rotational program for Rolls-Royce North America, serving in a number of roles and functions including manufacturing operations, procurement, and project management. In this program, Brandon lived and worked in Indianapolis, the United Kingdom, and Oakland, California. He moved back to Indianapolis in 2017 and became a Procurement Commercial Officer for RRNA negotiating multi-million dollar contracts and leading a transformational shift in contracting curriculum for the organization. 

In 2018, he changed career paths and joined Eli Lilly & Company, a global pharmaceutical company based in Indianapolis. Starting in the procurement organization, Brandon owned the strategic sourcing of biology and chemistry pre-clinical research services for the enterprise where he drove savings of ~$20M during his tenure. In 2020, he moved on to become Associate Director for contracting and owned all global master procurement templates used for sourcing ~$6B annual spend on goods and services. He currently serves as Sr. Director, Global Privacy, leading Lilly’s robust privacy program for the global research and development organization as well as Lilly Diabetes and Obesity and market research.

Brandon became an evening student at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in the fall of 2017 and graduated with his J.D. in 2020. 

Brandon lives in Noblesville, IN with his wife, Carolyn, and their dog, Apollo. They are expecting their first child, a son, in November 2024. He enjoys traveling, golfing, discovering new restaurants and bars, and spending as much time as he can with his family and friends.
